Sub-Saharan Africa: Tackling the headwinds after the economic turnaround

Commerzbank has realised a new report “Sub-Saharan Africa: Tackling the headwinds after the economic turnaround”. The document offers some interesting incites into the prospects for the region’s economy; the below text taken from the report itself sums up the document quite nicely.

“Beyond the regional economic analysis, experts discuss with us current challenges and future perspectives in Sub-Saharan Africa with a view to demographics, the financial and the agricultural sector, and business environment issues. Thus the OECD gave us a perspective on demographic change seen as an opportunity for Africa. The African Development Bank (AfDB) provided us with a snapshot of one of their projects in the financial sector which aims to improve doing finance in Africa, called Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A). We also asked an independent soft commodity expert to give us her point of view on the potential of SubSaharan Africa’s agricultural sector. Last but not least, the GermanAfrican Business Association elaborates on German-African relations as well as doing business in Sub-Saharan Africa. We believe that both our analysis and the contributions from our partners could help understand the complex situation of the continent and enhance the perception of Africa in Germany, in Europe and certainly worldwide.”
